As an AI engineer at Arlo Technologies, you will design and develop algorithms, detection models, and software for advanced video and audio analytics features for Arlo’s Smart Home devices. Specific areas of interest include motion detection, object detection and tracking, action recognition and video understanding, facial and biometric recognition, reidentification, audio recognition, natural language, and others.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or a related technical field with 4+ years of industry experience; MS/PhD in ML, Computer Vision, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience building and shipping production ML systems end to end, including data, training, evaluation, deployment, and iteration.
• Strong computer vision expertise, including detection, classification, segmentation, tracking, or video understanding, plus 2+ years of production experience with LLMs or VLMs.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, AWS, and Docker, with experience in distributed systems, embeddings, vector search, and multimodal retrieval.
• Experience building tool-using AI agents, strong evaluation and data-quality practices, and comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Codex; bias toward shipping and strong written communication.

Responsibilities:

• You will work on developing new features in the field of video (and possibly audio) understanding, covering the entire scope of work- from data analysis and labeling to algorithm development and accuracy evaluation.
